Stanley Tea Cup and Saucer

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite tea cup and saucer sets by Stanley.

The cup and saucer features a crisp white background, with lovely flowers, greenery and plaid. I feel like I should know the name of the flowers depicted on this china, but I just can't think of it right now.

I don't know if there's a "technical term" for this or not, but I love the swirled ribbing on the cup and saucer.

The plaid makes me think of Scotland. Bagpipes played, inside my head, the entire time I was taking pictures!

The back stamp reads Stanley, Fine Bone China, England, Est 1875.

Thanks for visiting me today!
Michelle

This is a beautiful tea cup Michelle! I love the flowers...I think they are thistles! Yay! I love thistle cups : )
It can be hard to tell what the flowers sometimes. My cup today has some on it I am not sure what they are.
I am thinking with the plaid sash the name must be something Scottish! lol!
Thank you so much for sharing!

Terri

Dear Michelle,
I think they are thistles too and a Scotch ribbon. It is just so pretty. I hope you enjoy and treasure it.

Hi Michelle,
that cup is lovely and I also think it's thistle. I love all things Scottish. My partner Robert is a Scott and Chloe is 1/2 Scott too! I also love the yellow tartan ribbon. There is a tartan registry and I bet you could look up the colours and find out the clan name. Wouldn't that be fun? Then you could say something like, "This is my McTavish cup!" :)

A Scottish thistle, no wonder you heard bagpipes. Lovely teacup.

I was thinking thistle and that's what everyone guessed. Love the pattern.

Sorry, I meant to say, thanks for sharing at my Spring Tea party. That's the problem with having two parties on the go. One can get mixed up at times. Enjoy your weekend, Michelle.
