Tea Cup Tuesday

It's time to exhibit another tea cup and saucer for Tea Cup Tuesday hosted by Artful Affirmations and Martha's Favorites.

The book, The Power of Style, is one of my favorite books. I recently pulled it off my bookcase to re-read. The other three books are by Kate Spade. They are "Style", "Occasions" and "Manners", filled with fun ideas and ways to behave in different situations.

Today's tea cup is white with lovely pink roses and green leaves. There are little yellow bursts of color, too. I found this particular tea cup at an antique store, though I don't think it's old enough to fall into the "antique category".

As soon as I saw this tea cup, I knew I had to buy it. I'm really partial to roses. Here's a look at the back side of the cup.

Both the cup and saucer are fluted.

This is made by Royal Chelsea. The cup and saucer are both stamped. Please excuse the sticky spots from where the tag used to be! I didn't notice them until after I uploaded the pictures.

These next two pictures are pages from Kate Spade's book "Occasions".

She says, "Tea is the most elegant of small gatherings and is the high-water mark of gracious socializing...". Of course, we already knew that :)

Thanks for stopping by :)
Michelle

Your tea cup may not be an antique, but it is certainly a fantastic vintage cup with a beautiful rose theme.
Thanks for sharing... and for visiting me, too.

I think I love your cup! I too love roses and reds, pinks and greens. The fluting also adds such elegance to the cup. It is truly a lovely cup and you are so lucky to find it! It is definitely vintage. After 1920 and it looks like it may be in the 50s. If it were, that would make her over 60 years old! (found similar backstamp with higher pattern number so I am pretty sure she is from the 50s)She's looking pretty good!

Terri

This is a sweet rose tea cup and I very much like the way you displayed it with the old books about tea and manners. The old books sure do bring back memories of times we=hen such things really mattered. It would be kind of nice to practice a few of the customs now, wouldn't it?

Hi Michelle, your teacup is gorgeous. I was always partial to ones with roses and used to collect "Old Country Roses". Alas, I no longer have any good china. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
