Unmarked Tea Cup and Saucer

Hello and welcome! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! It rained last week, from Thursday thru Sunday, but that didn't stop the fireworks. This week is a complete contrast to the end of last week: lots of sunshine yesterday and today. It's smouldering hot outside right now, but I'm not complaining. I love the sun and its accompanying heat!

This week I'm sharing this sweet, little tea cup and saucer set.

It's a little smaller than a normal tea cup, but not small enough to be labelled petite. The colors are more vibrant in person than in these photographs.

Oops! Someone didn't pull the aqua color all the way down on this panel. The tea cup has three little feet with a dash of gold on each one.

I want to say this is a Chinoiserie pattern, but I'm not 100% sure. It's very shiny. Neither the cup nor saucer are marked, so I don't know who the maker may be. I'm leaning toward "made in Japan".

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  2. This is a very sweet cup! Love those colors and the vintage feel the florals give to it. I am guessing Japanese or Chinese...considering the little gold designs on it.
I don't see lily of the valley cups that often, and this one is truly dear.

  6. Hi Michelle,
That is such a lovely teacup! Was wondering if the flower is lily of the valley. I am sure you will have lots of happy tea times sipping from it! Have a wonderful weekend!
